YES! in the Schools

A variety of arts programming is available to schools through the efforts of GAC.

Workshops, residencies, assembly performances and teacher training can be coordinated for sharing among school districts or for individual schools.

For 2003-2004, the arts council has coordinated a week-long residency in Sidney City elementary schools by author Nancy McArthur (“The Plant that Ate Dirty Socks”) and a three-day residency at Emerson Elementary in Sidney by Holly’s Harps. Emerson students attended a concert by harpist Holly Pratt, learned to play small harps, and gave a performance for family and friends.

Holly’s Harps were at Emerson Elementary Nov. 10-12, 2003. Nancy McArthur will be in Sidney the week of April 12, 2004.
