Fourth Grade Project

All Shelby County fourth graders see a dance performance, thanks to a 14-year partnership between GAC and The Sidney Dance Company.

Each year, the dance company presents a full-length ballet or musical. GAC works with the administrations of all 10 of Shelby County’s school systems to arrange for fourth graders to see part of this production during school hours on a field trip to the performance site, usually Sidney High School.

Following the performance, audience members have an opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with the dancers, many of whom are their peers.

In January 2004, fourth graders will enjoy “Alice in Wonderland.”
